Our Story

LAPRINO began in a rented room in Patan with two machines and a stack of canvas bought on Mangal Bazaar. We started because the bags we could buy here were either imported and expensive or cheap and gone within a season. Neither felt like an answer for people who actually carry things — up a trail, onto a bus, across a city in the rain. So we make the other kind. Cut and stitched in Kathmandu, sold at a price that reflects the work rather than the shipping. Every bag is made by people we know, and if one fails we want to hear about it — that is how the next version gets better.
